This opinion is for me only.

I've come to the conclusion that the warfare of a Christian is physical and prayerful.

We have spiritual armament and physical armament.

I don't see protests, boycotts or any other type of passive confrontation available to the Christian.

I may be wrong, and I'll gladly receive acquired wisdom ... but I think the Christian is to fight.

We can pray

and we can kill

THAT'S what I see.

I knew a girl, back in the late 60s, from a great family in Tennessee. She got knocked up while in college, had an illegal abortion, and was left unable to ever have a child.
I still have occasional contact with her.

Is your point “Safe, legal, and rare”?

Buntag Al ... or harpun/gabii to you ...

If you mean a protest might have prevented her abortion and saved her sanity, I'm not sure we can use that as an argument.

I have emphasema because I began smoking in 1962, a time when even the doctors on TV promoted cigarettes.

By the time it got into my thick skull that smoking was bad, it took another 10 or 15 years to finally get off of the addiction completely ... by THAT time .... (siigghhhh )

Anyway, my point was not so much that we must fight, but that protests aren't effective.

Sorry, but I do not understand your post. I did not knock her up, but true, sex with her in the 60s may have been illegal.
It does remind me, however, long past time for me to check up on her.

I was not the father. Her pregnancy was a number of years after I was last with her, and I knew nothing about her having an abortion until some years after. It was during a number of years when I had no contact with her.
We later got together at her parents NC mountain retreat many years later, late 1990s..

Yes, that is the life for us old goats, but always time for our gathering in the bear garden for a few San Migs.
Weather is blustery today from some tropical storm that they can not figure out where it is really going. Latest that I saw on Typhoon2000.com is that it is now diving south to your neck of the woods....Stay safe.
Dave is in the mountains today. Only Charlie from Cape Cod and myself had a few beers in our beach garden.

It is my understanding that what we are attempting to do at the abortion mills is to offer an alternative to these troubled mothers to be. Not to protest, not to call them sinners, but to let them know that there are agencies that will help them through their pregnancies.

THAT'S what I see.

We can also publicly Witness for God. This has an effect on others that we may not see.

If you mean a protest might have prevented her abortion and saved her sanity, I'm not sure we can use that as an argument.

Here's something that happened this past October.

-----------------------------------------

Standing on the street with a cold wind blowing, did not seem to be anything happening in the blue building, feeling a bit sorry for myself, wanting to get warm.

Then

A dark haired young woman approached me from the convenience store parking lot. I said, “Hello." She spoke not a word, but extended a hand to shake. She silently looked into my eyes, then handed me a note.

"24 years ago my mother went to a place like this because she thought she was too young and she couldn’t financially take care of me. She saw people like you and stated crying and drove away. 9 months later, she had me. I want to thank you all for what you do and what you stand for. Because of people like you, I’m alive. 2 weeks ago I saved a 3 year old from getting hit by a truck. If I hadn’t pulled him away he would have died. So in a way people like you saved his life too. Keep it up. Pass it along. God bless you all and God bless America."

Suddenly, I did not feel the cold.

Second, you should go to experience the power of the devil. Non-charismatic evangelicals are unhealthily skittish about the reality of spiritual warfare. We are practical modernists, believing the invisible realm doesn’t touch this realm. You cannot make that mistake at a killing center. The sense of demonic presence is oppressive, weighty. Never is that power greater than when proclaiming Jesus to those leading their little ones to death. The devil doesn’t take well to our kneeling before His gates. -Dr. R.C. Sproul, Jr.

What?!

"[E]xperience the power of the devil"? No way! (And "Non-charismatic evangelicals" and all others not fed by the Eucharist should stay away — from being mere feet away from the devil — altogether) imo. Only those "sacramented" to the gills (daily reception of the Eucharist, recent confession, an hour of adoration prior to protesting, rosary recitation) should consider such an enormous Satan-spearing task. The ideal being an orthodox Roman Catholic priest leading the "sacramented" group. Want to help get rid of abortion? Consider the following:
"There is no stopping abortion without an ocean of grace from Jesus Christ. No way will human means stop abortion...The principal source of this grace is the Holy Eucharist." -Fr. Hardon

"If people spent an hour a week in Eucharistic Adoration, abortion would be ended." -Mother Teresa

"I firmly believe that if every one of the billion plus Catholics in the world spent an hour one day a week before the Blessed Sacrament, every major crisis, every major scandal, abortion and acts of international terrorism would stop!" -Fr. Louis Guardiola

The "kill" option is probably off the table for the most part lest it become "murder". In the New Covenant era, we are not the true judges as He has reserved the right. The call of the article to proclaim them all as sinners who need to repent, while long-term correct, only serves to push them away instead of drawing them into the conversation. So many want to go "hard core" and they miss the counsel given us. One example is the bit about if a man will not work, he should not eat. They tell us to make the offender aware of the transgression that he might be ashamed and change his ways, but they also tell us to do it lovingly. Too many "crusaders" going the hard core route and forgetting the love...

“Protest” is the wrong word, and should not be the approach used in front of clinics.

Prayerful, loving, discouragement.

Offer alternatives, and real help.

Ugly signs and pictures are fine for our legislators, but they do nothing for the stressed out mother approaching the clinic.

The same is true with the taunts of HELL AND DAMNATION.

These women need to feel they can reach out and have hope and support.

You have between 15 and 60 seconds to change her mind.

It must be with honey, not vinegar.

I most emphatically disagree. It is much to be regretted that you seem to be trying to wall off our Evangelical brothers and sisters.

I have seen this "walling off" from both sides, as a matter of fact. I don't think that God (or the unborn) are much impressed with such forms of piety. iMo
