Dude, it could happen. Three easy steps to Romney 3.0: He comes out strong for amnesty to mend fences with Latino voters; he finally decides to ix-nay the “makers and takers” etoric-rhay, and of course he chooses Mike Huckabee to be his VP. Can’t. Miss.
Seriously, though, this is just one Republican operative talking and he’s obviously joking. I think?
In interviews with more than a dozen party officials, fundraisers, and strategists in New York and Washington over the past 10 days, Republicans described a palpable sense of anxiety gripping the GOP establishment in the wake of Christies meltdown, and an emerging consensus that the once promising cast of candidates they were counting on to save the GOP from the Tea Party and the nation from Hillary Clinton is looking less formidable by the week…
There are definitely people jumping ship, the operative said, noting that confidence in Christies electability has dropped off sharply among the donors hes heard from…
In fact, its gotten so bad, the operative said, that some donors have started looking back fondly on the good old days of 2012: You know what a lot of them say to me? I think we need Mitt back.
Not even the GOP establishment could be so badly out of tune with America that they’d consider bringing back Romneymania — I think. But the larger point, that Christie’s souring image and the fact that his lingering mutual contempt with conservatives makes him a tougher sell than thought, is apt to make country-clubbers look around for centrist alternatives now. Don’t underestimate either the lingering grudges held by prominent Romney fans towards Christie for his betrayal in 2012...

If a RINO is the answer, it is always the wrong question!
Why should the GOP-e fret over fatso’s foibles. They still have ryan, rubio, jebbush and many others who want to go along to get along.
It won’t be Mitt. Ann Romney was disgusted and he’s not going to want her to go through that again.
pshhh. The Mittbot infestation was what made me cross HotAir off my reading list. Figures they would start this.
I was very active locally, which is where it's going to be unless and until the GOP wakes up.
Having said that, I'm 61 and don't see it happening in my lifetime unless the GOP embraces one of the Pauls or somebody like Gary Johnson, which will be fought tooth and nail on this forum.
Maybe they can get McCain to run again. That would be quite a ticket if Mitt & John were to join forces.
let’s see 48% for McCain and 49% for Romney; well, that’s 97% of the vote. We can’t lose!!!!
Jeb Bush is ready to take the fall and throw the election to Cankles.
Babs say no more Bushes.
Jeb Bush would be the perfect GOP-e candidate. He is a fatso AND a RINO.
Without or without Bridgegate, I prefer Romney to Christie, especially after Christie stabbed Romney in the back over Hurricane Sandy. Would be nice to get someone a little more conservative, though.
What a bunch of effing losers.
That said, it appears she is embracing entertainment and leaving the political arena. I doubt she will ever run again for any office.
It could be for the best if she can impact pop culture that Breitbart correctly identified as being upstream of politics.
Thanks so much for the wonderful information!
For heaven’s sake, just vote 3rd party. If the 3rd party candidate(s) can get 5% of the vote, he/she/they will participate in national debates, and could, at that point, become a major player. A lot of people just are not aware of how much more in sync the constitution party (for example) is with their own beliefs.
No kidding!
I’m trying to decide who is the smarter....Lardass Rove or Dumbass Preibus.....
Decisions....decisions...decisions.....
That's always been said of Romney, and yet his presidential campaign fell apart financially.
As for the "forceful" Mitt, that was just a persona pushed on him by his handlers. It's not his nature, and it came out after the campaign that he didn't really want to run, and didn't much care whether he won. Romney is not a natural pit bull. It's hard to have any passion when you have no convictions.
Well.....he DOES like queers adopting kids, I'll give him that. /s
