What you have is a real problem in trying to get things together, in trying to get things to happen...”
McKeon’s been in Congress long enough that he ought to have a real clear idea of what the Democrats mean when they talk about “getting together” or “bi-partisanship”.
The Dems’ definition of that is “We’ll get anywhere from 75-90% of what you want. We’ll throw you a few crumbs so you can feel relevent and you’ll give us almost everything we want because after all, you don’t want to be disinivited from all those great Georgetown cocktail parties - do you?”
Minor typo here...
Meant to say “Well get anywhere from 75-90% of what WE want...”
Sorry.
