Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates has been facing criticism and scorn from some media members for having the audacity to mildly criticize President Obama and some administration officials while Obama is still in office. On Tuesday, Gates appeared on the PBS NewsHour to face another round of questioning about his newly released memoir.
Midway through the interview, anchor Judy Woodruff suggested that the former defense secretary could lower morale among troops on the ground overseas:

Shouldn’t she have addressed him as “Comrade Gates”?
Was Judy Woodruff concerned about the effect those words had on the morale of the troops back then? I can't remember.
“”You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.” —John Kerry
“American soldiers [are] going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the ñ of ñ the historical customs, religious customs.” —John Kerry in 2005”
No, that hurts American morale.
SHE cares about troop morale... who knew!?
too late ! Their C&C has already seriously affected troops morale . Gates is merely explaining WHY they are already so non plussed with Obama . Only the most career oriented sycophants seem to have a good feeling towards him .
Miserable no good communist ****.
I hope there is a special place in Hell reserved for traitorous American media scum.
Hey Judy, any chance you thought to ask Harry Reid about troop morale when he said the war was lost? Didn’t think so.
Go to Hell Judy Woodruff.
Exactly
I forgot about that one. Info? Link? Thanks.
Just took a peek into the PBS NewsHour telecasts archive from 2003 when ol’ Bush was in Washington and you’d think troop morale was a concept that only Neanderthals were concerned with. John “Silky Pony” Edwards discussing troop deployments as if he knew anything whatever about the military and everybody sitting like schoolgirls in an adoration circle around him lest a single droplet of divine wisdom fail to be captured and recorded is the stuff of both laughter and nightmares.
Oh yeah, stealing money from them and their families doesn’t affect morale.
Well, Judy, it would be hard for me to lower the regard in which the troops already hold the current administration and thus lower their morale by stating publicly what has been for some time generally acknowledged within the military. If anything, a public airing of the disaster that this administration has been in international and military affairs may relieve somewhat the military’s dismay and frustration — that the general public is unaware of their plight.
Don’t talk to hostile media. They will only twist your words and ambush you.
