...Lauren Tannehill, wife of Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, turned in a rental car, but forgot to remove an AR-15 rifle from the back seat.
The weapon was found by the next rental customer, a woman from New York, who turned it into police.
This is certainly the kind of item you dont want to forget anywhere, but forgetting isnt a crime, said Broward Sheriffs Office spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion.
According to a BSO report, Lauren Tannehill, 26, rented a Nissan Rogue from E-Z Rent-A-Car on Jan. 4. She had the vehicle for about two hours, then turned it in for another.

Sure, but what would we talk about after I, well you know ?
5.56mm
Nice looking AR.
What brand did he/she get, I wonder?
Also, they gave her a Nissan Rogue. If her hubbie was with her, I bet he had her get a different car. Whenever Hertz/Avis tries to give me one of those I refuse.
Life is too short to drive that car if you are over 6’ tall and have ANY self respect.
As the story unfolds, that’s my guess. Hubbie put the case in the back, folded down the seat(s) to obscure it. Wife didn’t realize it was there. Turned in the car.
Rest of the story follows ...
As the old saying goes, it doesn’t matter how hot she is. Someone, somewhere is tired of her crap... :-)
Indeed. That stomach is flatter than my coffee table. Isn't it in Soylent Green that women are referred to as furniture?
I was at my dentist last month. A State Trooper in full uniform was at the check out desk, then walks out. A man in is 40's comes out of the exam rooms and sees the Officer. He glares at him then, states..."That's dangerous, he shouldn't be in here with a GUN"..........I'm STUNNED, what an idiot!
In the movies, guns are always turned against the owners by criminals and accidents happen all the time. It's funny how the fear of mass shootings has eclipsed the fear of the common ordinary killing that makes up 99% or all criminal homicides. Journalists who say we shouldn't generalize about public safety from ordinary criminal homicides want to generalize about mass shootings, and suggest that they are much more pervasive than they actually are.
Who and why turned this into a media event?
Oh! Could it have been the woman who was so scared of a gun?
/smirk.
Might have to watch/endure that movie one more time.
Google tells me that indeed there WAS a woman/furniture/GRAPEFRUIT reference ;-)
Hatcher: And what about the furniture?
Det. Thorn: [motions to chest] Like grapefruit.
Hatcher: [chuckles] You never saw a grapefruit.
Det. Thorn: You never saw her.
That’s my recollection.
