There's a difference between their evil influence, and recognizing that the enemy ... even the nasty japs, krauts, gooks, fuzzies, whatever ... are human and should be treated humanely when possible. WE DONT'T TORTURE PRISONERS OF WAR. In many cases, our enemies do, but we don't. It's part of what makes us the good guys.

My statement was that one must dehumanize an enemy before they can effectively fight them. That is not the same as saying they are not human beings.
