Next up on hard-hitting breaking news on Channel 10....
so both cases have this in common:
1) people ignoring the info on the screen about texting during the show. i presuming the disclaimer about no texting, turning off your phone, etc had already been shown
2) same fellow at both movies.
Maybe movie theaters should be required to place prominent signs clearly stating:
NO TEXTING ALLOWED
Next question please.
But my real point was about the silly TV "news" digging up some woman who actually had the same guy stare at her and give her dirty looks. Oh, my!!
Gannet???
Gannets are seabirds, closely related to boobies.
How apropos !
Gannett
no, she is disturbed because he turns out to be a killer and he was giving her dirty looks
and “No shooting texters” needs to be on it somewhere
Yes, I understand that. I just don’t understand why Channel 10 thinks it’s news. Or how they verified her story. (I get dirty looks every day. Maybe even from future murderers.)
I don’t know why they think its news either, but they have lots of free airtime since they refuse to cover Obama scandals.
I wonder if he was carrying during this earlier incident.
And then he carries a weapon past the theatre’s NO WEAPONS ALLOWED sign and uses it to enforce the theatre’s No Cell Phone policy.
Dagummit, olde age and a large finger?
Could be a I’m just a lousy hunt an d PECK ty pist.
:^} Have a great day!
Next question please.....Ban all movies? I banned them in 1991. Last of the Mohicans was pretty crappy, anyways.
I don’t know if there is a sign, but he’d probably be exempt since he’s a retired LEO.
According to what we’ve read in both cases the actual movie hadn’t started yet - they were still showing previews.
People are often still coming in, going back to buy food, talking to each other, etc.
I can understand finding any and all of this annoying, but it is not the same as doing these things once the feature film has begun.
**How about a simple, all-inclusive: All Electronic Devices Must Be Turned Off.***
Some times it works, some times it don’t. I wanted to strangle a teen setting next to me at THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA in NYC because, at every lull in the play, out would come the phone and texting, in Chinese.
At another play, EVITA, a couple, in front of me, were texting before the play began, but ceased when the play started.
Because she has had contact with the detectives in the case and her affidavit was cited to the judge at the shooter’s hearing.
Her encounter also involved theater staff, so it’s verifiable.
There is/was a sign:

It would be interesting to know if the other officer who took the gun from him had his weapon on him in the theatre.
AFAIK the law requires off-duty officers to be armed at all times — but not after they retire.
It’s almost like he was out looking for trouble.
None of that was in the linked story unless I missed it somehow.
