This is the concept of MAD, i.e. “mutually assured destruction.” This concept worked during the cold war as the leaders on both sides were rational men and neither wanted their nation or culture to perish. The problem for Israel is her enemies are not rational people. In Iran the Mullahs do believe that the destruction of Israel despite their own destruction will bring the return of the Mahdi and in the great battle to follow Islam will reign supreme and triumphant.
This is madness. I fear if we or Israel or both do not take out Iran’s nuclear program we will see the result of the “Samson Option.” Many millions will die if this occurs.
