A republican ?
Almost all politicians think we have too much freedom.
I think there are a lot of home schoolers in VA, just not around Fairfax where this guy is. I went to a convention a few years back in Roanoke and was surprised at how many people were there.
Throw him out of the party and the legislature.
Oh wow. Thanks for the heads up. Will pass this along and make the calls.
Why is everything “faith-based” now, instead of “religious”?
There are indeed a lot (of homeschoolers) in VA, and the kids I know who were homeschooled have no problems getting into college. Public education in general is in disarray.
Not really surprised a GOP is going after Homeschooling
Too many in the GOP support Globalism and Big Central Govt...and the main cog of that is public schools. Homeschooling is a threat to Big Govt Globalist types
Sad that the GOP refuses to defend Homeschooling....even more conservative GOP refuse to do so
Northern Virginia (i.e., DC suburb) RINO.
What they really mean, and want to say but know they can’t yet, is that they want to criminalize CHRISTIAN homeschooling.
All other “faith-based” homeschooling is OK to them.
Please see my tag line.
It is the One Percenters who are against home schooling and the Bill of Rights. They promote homosexuality, gun control, a world dictatorship, global warming, Islam, collectivism and pretty much everything else for the past 100+ years that conservatives are opposed to.
They use politicians both D and R to get what they want.
When this guy comes up for reelection, the voters need to be reminded he was the one trying to do a huge favor for the left wing teachers union - a mega contributor to the DEMOCRAT party.
Obviously, this guy lied about who he was to get elected, or he is corrupt enough to be bought for the right price. Either way, he needs to be defeated if this is true. Good people don't need people like this representing them.
Never mind what a politician says. They lie. Watch what they DO. By their FRUITS ye will know them!
Follow-up bump.
I wonder what his donations to political candidates are like? Maybe a donation to McAuliffe is in his history?
I’ll put it this way; would you rather have people cleaning your house that were raised in an environment where religion was embraced or where there was none and they always did whatever they wanted to? Nun or street thug comparison.
He’s just lucky that he has a new ‘rat AG who will ignore abuses like this.
> What they really mean, and want to say but know they cant yet, is that they want to criminalize CHRISTIAN homeschooling.

Just claim you are Muslim and get the green light for everything.
I guess they think all “citizens” must be indoctrinated using the same propaganda material to ensure uniformity.../s
In the times in which we live, it appears to be that just about any kid who doesn’t go through public education is becoming a threat to anyone who wants big government/control and all that means. Homeschooled kids miss out on the “indoctrination” and even ‘worse’, they usually have a better education & have been taught critical thinking skills. They also have the morals/values of their parents and my personal opinion is parents to whom morals and values matter, are more likely to homeschool. If we REALLY want to see a turnaround in the direction this country is headed, it should start with homeschooling as many kids as possible.
Homeschooling has already gone before the Supreme Court. The court sided with homeschooling, because according to the court, the children are NOT the property of the state.
The case brought before the court had nothing to do with religion. It had to do with the families rights to decide what was best for their own children and their own family.
A lot of homeschoolers are people of faith though (but not all). They're just people who don't want their kids heads filled with all that liberal rot.
