I started in the Electric Utility business before the oil&gas work, so it catches my eye.
The winter peaks are less around here than the summer peaks. But for that same reason, planned maintenance that requires extended downtime is schedule in the winter.
Combine several units planned down with a cold snap that bumps up demand, and then a couple units that trip offline unexpectedly, and we get the rolling blackouts like 2011 (which was a bad one).
