Following the passage of a lead ammunition ban and a plethora of new gun control laws in 2013, California Democrats now say they will push for "comprehensive" background checks on all ammunition purchases in the state.
According to The Washington Post, CA State Senator Kevin de Leon (D) said, "Anyone can walk into any gun store, a bait and tackle store, and purchase all the ammunition they want to, no questions asked."
He said it ought not be so: "The ammunition is the fuel that feeds the violence. The gun itself, the hand gun or long gun or the high-powered weapon is the delivery device. The gas, the fuel, is the ammunition, and no one knows who buys it."
As Breitbart News reported on December 28, "comprehensive" background checks on gun purchases in CA ended private gun sales and led to a firearm registry in that state. Confiscation laws are also in place.

What about “dem po’ folks” that are too poor or can’t get “into town” to get an I.D.? They’ll be disenfranchised! This is racism. Where the hell is Eric the Holder?! These people’s Second Amendment rights are being violated. He needs to sue the hell out of the California Nazicrats.

Do the terms “comprehensive” and “common-sense” generate instant red flags with anybody else these days, or is it just me?

I'd say no-fault divorce, an intentional diminishment of the whole idea of shame, classism, the welfare state, and a few other things are the fuel that feeds the violence.

More laws restricting law abiding citizens. And they think criminals will obey them? Why? This is foolishness. Complete idiocy. It will not impact criminals in the least.

IRONY
Anyone who lived in California back in the 60’s and 70’s knows that many people moved there from other states to escape what they saw as stodgy, oppressive Nanny State laws.
California was then the wide open state where freedom from government control and domination was a big attraction.
Now California has turned into one of the most oppresive, Big Government, Nanny States in the union.

While they're at it they should enact “comprehensive” ID checks when registering to vote *and* at the polling place.

But, of course, this will not be enough.
They will need to enact:
- Storage requirements. A gun safe must be purchased that has a minimum of 3 inch tempered steel walls.
- Ammo taxes of 200% of the price of the ammunition must be levied, to give to programs that preach that guns are evil.
- Transportation of any firearm, to the range, for conceal carry, for repair -- for any reason -- must be done by application, 3 to 7 months prior to the proposed transportation. Environmental Impact Statements must be filed, and approved by, the EPA in Washington DC. If granted, the permit to transport (with all accompanying information) must be filed with each law enforcement agency through which territory the firearm will be passing through, at the city, state, and federal level.
- Biometric firearms are now required. Three successful fingerprint swipes in a row, with a subsequent retinal scan, followed by a password, must be entered into any firearm before it can be activated.
- No bullets may be made out lead, because it pollutes the environment; nor any other metal, because it defeats ballistic vests. Wood may not be used, either, due to the concerns of preserving woodstands. Plastic causes pollution on a global scale. Cotton is not allowed, due to racial overtones. Tissue paper bullets may be considered, but only after a 3-panel commission meets and approves the concept.
- No firearm may be possessed by any person who has been charged with, or convicted of, any crime whatsoever -- including traffic and parking tickets. If we cannot trust you with a car, what makes you think we can trust you with a GUN?
Obviously, this is only a common-sense start. Many more regulations will be forthcoming.

I couldn’t help but notice the concern about no one knowing who buys ammunition. Well, we can’t have that; it’s important that the “authorities” know who’s doing what. Nothing should escape their purview, nothing.
What a bunch of control freaks!

All you have to do is the same thing as fireworks, guns, cigarettes - drive to Nevada or Arizona, buy what you want, and bring it back home.

Uh, NOT these days 'tards.
