As I said, you are lucky to have never known anybody who destroyed their life with alcohol. I would have to guess that very few can make that claim.

Now, I will say in all honestly that, out of the many people I've known who smoke pot, I've yet to see a life physically destroyed by it. Not saying it doesn't happen, but in my near 60 years, I've yet to see it.

On the other hand, over the years I have seen dozens die or who are now disabled due the physical effects of chronic alcoholism. some people are simply going to look to stimulants to get through life.
