The MXT135 Counter Defilade Target Engagement System has a range of roughly 7,800 feet - and is to be deployed in Afghanistan soon. I would call it the "Equalizer." Some call it the "Punisher".

This would have limited value for use against snipers, because most snipers “shoot and scoot.”

'$11,900.00 each.' Crazy. Only America would spend and waste that much money

About the price of 10 M16s. A fraction of the cost of the ORDNANCE of systems with equivalent applications.

That sucker is a bargain.

No wonder the rounds are $45.00 each.

If things continue the way they are now, a .22LR round will cost 45 bucks in a couple years.

I’m not saying to do this but you can download a “how to” on making semi auto’s into full auto. When you test fire it makes sure you are in the middle of nowhere...

It “eluded” me because it’s irrelevant. Infantry tactics are the same no matter where you go or who you fight. Seeking cover isn’t even something that really has to be taught. All you can see is some SWAT clown killing children with it. Fine. I see the engagements my Soldiers and I were in in Iraq and how incredibly useful this weapon would have been, and I’m very glad our guys will now have it to hopefully eliminate that most basic tenet of squat combat for the enemy.

But, please, don’t let me keep you from fretting in the dark all by yourself. It seems to make you happy.

I would hate to work the butts with this on the firing range.

You are living in a delusion. Yeah, we should have sent our brothers to fight house to house instead of leveling it. I lost to many friends to that nonsense.

wow big talk for some one never to the front lines. for your info, this was fielded as a prototype a couple years ago, and now it is going standard issue. It is not being wasted.

Hard time believing a round will be only $45

Probably just for the first contract. For the 2nd contract, after automatic budget inflators, CPI adjustments and cost-plus budgeting, they will cost $90

I never said we already fielded it. The whole point was to never put our troops in the situation of even needing to clearing buildings and cities with this weapon. I said we shouldn’t eve use that tactic and while we had the arsenal od democracy on the sidelines, not used.

42,500 rifles is enough for every person in the infantry and Special Forces? Really!? Is that how small our ground force has become???

But first, the EPA and the IRS will get them, followed by Obamacare navigators and the Chicago PD.

Then the Forest Service, Post Office, and crossing guards at your kids' school. All of whom can be "deputized" into a federal counter-insurgency force in the event of an "insurrection."

No, they wouldn’t have every guy field one, they would have at least one a squad or platoon.

Not every conflict we send troops to is a full blown war where bombing them back to the stone age is an option.

Having them handy for our special forces in peace keeping and diplomatic areas is a good role for this to take out a few terrorists.

If you’re not allowed to shoot back when the bad guys are hiding in a “holy mosque”, then for all practical purposes you might as well be toting a Red Ryder BB gun.
