Just within the chemistry departments at three community colleges I teach at, in the bay area: 6 out of 7 of the new faculty hires have been women. I realize this is probably not statistically relevant but I believe this is a trend in other departments as well.

I should have also stated that 2 are Caucasian, 2 are Asian and 2 are Hispanic.
