Thankfully, we normally don’t get really cold weather except for 1 or 2 weeks per winter and by that I mean in the 20’s. I remember precautions my dad took with the car when we lived in Denver.

Teens to 0 or below is a nighmare. When at my aunt’s funeral in Butte some years ago it was -28 and the streets were a mess with packed snow and ice, snow on the ground and my cousin said it was too cold to snow any more.

Glad you’re having a warming trend! Put on some shorts and get outside ;-)

Glare ice - sounds like it might be what we call black ice. It’s awful, especially with all the hills around here. You don’t necessarily know it’s there until you’re on it (especially driving in the dark - early a.m.s and evenings).

Our sunrises haven’t been until about 7:45, so should start seeing daylight in about 1/2 hour.

Somebody said that to me the other day. I replied: Then how do you explain the North Pole?"

Yeah we have that too...you really can't see it. We kissed a guard rail along the river once because of it.

Actually we have ice everywhere, pulling down the branches and bending over trees, on top of the snow banks, and whatever uneven packed snow you had in your driveway is now at least an inch or more of solid ice.

If you don't have a bucket of sand, you might as well just throw yourself to the ground and get it over with. Then continue on all fours.
