If you're going to legalize it, then yes, that would be the way to go.

It's already legal. I'm not sure how much a person can grow, though.
I think it's the same with growing one's own tobacco. Up to 1/10th of an acre, and you can't sell what you grow.
(I tried growing my own tobacco before I discovered E-Cigarettes)

It is legal up to about six plants or so in Colorado.

Nope. They just move on to other criminal enterprises of which home invasions and kidnapping for ransom are just 2.

Who actually thinks that an uneducated, unskilled criminal gang member with blood on his hands will look for a legitimate job just because he can't smuggle pot?

“Legalize home grown weed and all these clowns go out of business.”

That is on DC’s agenda. They are proposing allowing up to 6 plants

Colorado legalized growing up to six plants per adult.

I have to say that (as a resident of the state) that this hasn't been the big deal that it seems to be outside of Colorado. "Medical" marijuana was already legal, and it was apparently not a big deal to get a card from a doctor. I do not smoke it, but I assume that if someone wanted it before, they probably got it without an issue. These new laws just mean that a person doesn't have to go to the doctor first.

I had mixed feelings about the law passing, and still do. I guess we'll see how it turns out.
