Losing Ratings Battle, CNN Head Spouts Off At Fox

Fox News chief Roger Ailes released a book recently and has been on a book tour promoting it. In the process, Ailes gave an interview to the Hollywood Reporter in which he suggested that CNN was "out of the news business" due to its increased reliance on human-interest and sensationalism.

Those comments apparently didn't sit well with CNN head Jeff Zucker.

Zucker today spouted off about Fox News' political influence, saying "the Republican Party is being run out of NewsCorp headquarters, masquerading as a news channel."

Considering that part of Ailes' initial interview was that he was not particularly worried about CNN, it's doubtful Ailes would consider this outburst particularly meaningful.

Still, Republican National Committee head Reince Priebus set the record straight.

Hey Jeff Zucker, we're the Republican Party and we speak for ourselves, pal. Have a great weekend. cc: @CNN @FoxNews

Communist propaganda is still a hard sell with hardworking, taxpaying Americans. There are still a lot of us out here.

CNN isn’t competing with Foxnews. It is competing with the other network and cable leftist news organizations. The audience of CNN is the same as MSNBC,CNBC,ABC,NBC,CBS etc.

Foxnews has no competition, they are the sole source news service for half the US population.

And the democrat party isn’t being run out of the headquarters of CNNABCNBCCBSMANBC?

Actually I think it's the other way around. The media are dutiful underlings to the 'rat-left.

“the Republican Party is being run out of NewsCorp headquarters, masquerading as a news channel”

If he was talking about the big government crony capitalist amnesty promoting GOP elite, he may not have been far wrong. Newscorp has been promoters of amnesty for some time, via their print venue at WSJ, and the GOP elite IS “following” them.

FOX wins the rating wars because:

Viewers see it as more credible

It presents multiple viewpoints

It does not ignore newsworthy stories

The folks there are charming, entertaining and attractive

Based on it's ratings, is FOX was the voice of the Republican Party, then you would wonder why the GOP doesn't control every branch of government!

Anyway, it doesn't bother me if FOX moves somewhat left, exactly because it is NOT part of the government - it's a media company. And as long as they keep doing the things I've mentioned that have made them so popular, then I'll keep watching.

Remember, this is the same guy that WROTE Obama’s Styrofoam columns speech, and put NBC firmly in Obama’s camp over Hillary, because it “...provided better optics, and a better story.”

A purposeful departure from controlled flight, coupled in pitch, roll, and yaw. It’s a dramatic maneuver often performed at airshows and also as part of flight training — most frquently in the military — to teach students recovery techniques. Violent, disorienting, and hard on the aircraft...but a heckuva ride.
