True, but I wouldn't want to field test the assumption by pointing one at the generally pretty laid back fellows in the local parish sheriff’s department. Long before all this ‘law enforcement’ cow excrement came along my father taught me to put down or drop what ever I was holding when turning towards a police officer who wanted to ‘speak’ to me. This might not be what should be in the best of all worlds but it is simply a realistic approach to not being shot.
But then you would have to know that it was a police officer that suddenly opened the passenger door of your car at 3am with no warning, which the officer admitted to. Per the statement, there is no indication as yet whether the airsoft gun was pointed at the officer. In addition, the officer admitted that he saw that the "gun" was disassembled. At this point the shooting looks unjustified.
