I did not assume anything. I mentioned several possible scenarios, none of which were stated as anything but a possibility.

You or someone else flat out stated that he pointed the gun at the cop with his finger on the trigger. Since the cop is the only living witness to the exact chain of events, then he can literally say anything he wants.

Yes cops lie. I have seen them lie through their teeth.

I agree. Seen it too.
Cops are not there for the protection of anything except their jobs and the government coffers. I used to respect them so much more but not much now. I surprised my DH by calling them mostly all JBTs or revenue makers.
I know if there is ever anything happening, I need to hide my dog and my gun, even in my own home, if a cop shows up. My doggy would bark and try to jump in their arms.
I will make an exception. I have had to call 911 in the past for medical emergencies and they were first on scene and used memo pads and oxygen masks not guns.
This story may have a lot more to it, but it sounds like an impatient, tired cop who was not as observant as he should have been. It won’t matter.
