That's really the best I can do, I think 'the missing woman' is Fuddy, her hair is still dry and it looks like she's still wearing the same sunglasses, and she's very very pale.

If I were writing a novel — purely fiction and one of the characters was faking their death iId make sure there was a dummy in a picture complete with wig and glasses and spirit the real alive person to a “hospital or other location.
It would take a lot of co operation to pull such a hoax off but would certainly keep them away from being an unwilling witness

If I were writing a novel,,,,,,synthetic wig would never appear stringy and wet
There are many small island where she could live or even stay in the mountains of their recent visit
Spent only a week in HI , the week of japanese earthquake and the tsanmi which followed on the big island One thing became very apparent : the close ties and familial relationship of the natives. They’d do anything to protect their own from outside sources. You know that coast guard medical etc would all have “family” available in a crisis

Good basis for a novel .....
