Sen. Ted Cruz unleashed another blistering assault on the Obama administration in front of a Downtown Austin audience Friday morning.
Cruz delivered the keynote speech during the final breakfast of the Texas Public Policy Foundation's Policy Orientation conference.
The Tea Party darling blasted the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, calling it an example of the administration's "lawlessness."
That aggressive rhetoric against a law signed off separately by all three branches of the federal government has been a trademark of Cruz's singular style that has captured the fervor of the administration's most vocal opponents. It was also delivered in front of a friendly crowd at the TPPF's annual event which features a slate of conservative luminaries hashing out policy ideas large and small that the conservative think-tank expects to play a role on the state and national level this year.
After his breakfast speech, Sen. Cruz declined to answer any direct questions about any plans to run for the presidency in 2016. Even though he's just starting his second year in office, the fiery freshman's gleeful pugnacity has vaulted him to the top of the list of candidates expected to seek the Republican nomination.
Other possible contenders were also in attendance at this week's Policy Orientation, including former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, both of whom addressed the conference on Thursday.
I love this:
“a law signed off separately by all three branches of the federal government”
Like it can never be question or repealed. Ever. Can I read even one “news” story that is not riddled with even the subtlest tones of propaganda?!
With Christie imploding, the way is clear for President Cruz.
WTF, this news outlet purposely obfuscates the visceral controversy over brocko's lawless legislation! Every aspect of those 3 branches squeezed through that ridiculously ponderous and unworkable and anti-American garbage -- by hook and crook, and by a jellyfish of a chief justice who inverted the law's original intent just long enough to make it stop looking like the pig it is. Good grief! The truth suffers such violence at the hands of the lamestreams.
An interesting image...I said in November they should put a Schrader valve in his @ss, pump him full of helium, and put him in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade.
I don’t think Christie is the imploding type. Looks more like the explosion type.
there are no “friendly crowds” in Austin for republicans. Austin is a pus pocket of liberalism in Texas.
Do you live here in Austin, Monkey?
Good grief, there are plenty of conservatives iln Austin.......I know
Ted Cruz Ping!
If you want on/off this ping list, please let me know.
Please beware, this is a high-volume ping list!
NO, north a piece. I did live there in 81 and then again in 83
Williamson county which contains part of Austin is one of the most conservative. Enough “northerners” should be able to attend. Had I known I would have gone.
then why is Lloyd Doggett your representative?
what about good old Democrat Ronnie Earl? He is/was elected wasn’t he?
But I can’t cast stones, we kept putting Chet Edwards back in office every 2 years. Took forever and a day to dig that pimple out.
I would've loved to see the faces on the luncheon crowd....some "establishment" Pubbies typically attend these breakfasts/lunches...when Sen Cruz was calling out this *admin*.
Apparently, this writer and/or station doesn't know the difference between attacking the lawlessness of picking and choosing portions of a duly passed law to enforce, some not to enforce, others to change, and others to delay.
The president, constitutionally, KEYE TV, is supposed to execute the laws of the land and not rewrite, revise, delay, and obfuscate them.
THAT is the lawlessness....but KEYE knew that.
That is not to say that Cruz supports ObamaCare. He doesn't. He would kill it in a minute if he could. But the lawlessness is the ObFUSCare that Obama plays with ObamaCare.
Thank you so much!!!!!
