Agreed, as the ultimate customer we should get the standards we demand.

We have two corrupt governments that don't see it that way and don't want to.

The Chinese hold a lot of our debt; I'm sure they don't mind having some control of our food supply. It's a good bargaining tool. I suspect they are not as short sighted in their planning as America tends to be. On the other side of the coin, the federal government wants to make sure they can control the American people, holding the food supply hostage is a good way to do that.

We need to revive the concept of self sufficiency.

When I read that the FDA is negotiating with China I have to wonder what is to negotiate. How many people its acceptable to sicken or kill?
