When you are in a hole, it is best to stop digging.
If taxes are raised on the corporations that make up the Chamber, who do you think funds their payments of those taxes?
Your emphasis on the taxation side of the equation is curious. Why no emphasis on the spending side - which is where the vast bulk of our problem exists?
Who pays the taxes? They do! That is why they fight taxes like hell. Do you think they are actually doing it just to help us middle class people? Why are they moving out of high tax states? Just because they don't want to pass their taxes onto us?

Of course spending is the problem. But it becomes more of a problem when the people who run the country don't have to pay high taxes. The more we lower them on wealthy individuals then the more they spend. Don't tell me you don't see a correlation. The more we have lowered taxes on the rich and on the corporations the more they become Democrats and the more feckless, duplicitous and treacherous the remaining Republican establishment country clubbers becomes. Again, the more government becomes a source of income and the less it becomes an oppressive tax burden the more we get stabbed in the back.
