Christie on “Bridgegate”: I knew nothing.

Obama said the same thing about the IRS targeting tea partiers, of course. To which conservatives replied: Thats no excuse. Even if he didnt order the targeting, bad behavior coordinated by multiple subordinates typically doesnt happen unless they have reason to believe itll be tolerated up the chain. Usually, when they play dirty, theyre taking some sort of cue from their boss to do so, whether in broad ideological terms or direct marching orders.

I’ve posted similar opinions to several down with Christie boards where freepers are apoplectic about this scandal. It’s sad really. Conservatives eating Christie alive doing the bidding of the DNC and Hillary, Obama, the nsa, the irs, the bbc, it’s disheartening and disgusting. I understand the enmity towards Christie, but the wanton ignorance of the pitchfork crowd being led by rings in their nostrils, pulled by all people- the leftist media is disheartening to the maximum.

Sorry Krispy, we already have one a$$hole in the WH that has no idea what all laws his staff are breaking to punish his political enemies, were all full up now, go sound crazy someplace else.

They’re slipping, they were supposed to only bring out the long knives when he got the nomination, now they’re doing us a huge favor by stopping him before he even gets going.

I can just imagine the high fiving of the inner circle of the clinton’s and the obama’s. Alinsky must be mighty proud right about now... it’s right out of the playbook the left used to smear Sarah Palin. Freepers...tsk tsk.

Former bush bot... I’m going to agree with you 100% on that observation. The Chinese have a saying: the peg that stands up gets pounded down. Christie, ego and all, stood up and became that peg. WHACK!

Never mind this scandal is peanuts compared to Benghazi, the NSA, etc., but the DNC media machine got their red meat and predictably theyre running with it.
Ah, but those are all fake scandals! This is a real scandal and they will pound on this till hell freezes over.

I suppose if you are an open borders pro-abortion liberal it is disheartening to see another Arlen Spector clone shoved out of Republican viability.
Across the board conservatives are neither surprised that Christie would do this nor forgiving of him in anyway. He is toast. He can take Lindsay Graham and John McCain with him when he goes.

Oh I’m none of those things. How would you know? I marched in the March For Life, after traveling back to the USA from Afghanistan, the first time, and Iraq, the second time. I chose NOT to vote for Romney, or anyone else down ticket, and I do not care who knows about it. Look at my pings of late. I’m charging freepers with reacting to Christie’s foibles in a quite predictable way. Who ELSE is behaving like freepers are, towards Christie? The media. When have freepers ever aligned themselves, mirror image like, with the press? Freepers are doing the bidding of the Clinton’s and or the Obama’s, just like the press. This is Chicago politics one oh one. Hook, line, and sinker. Of course Christie is unfit to hold the office of president. Did I cheer him on to the nomination? Sheesh. Head slap!

Nice post, and thank you for your service. I agree with you - I think Christie got sandbagged by his Hillarybot Chief of Staff. Hillary's got her little army of clerks and secretaries and other support personnel everywhere, and they are nasty as f***. She was a mole, as they all are, and after a long time of waiting she got The Call from The Boss.
Result? Zappo for Fatso (I detest him, but I actually think he was clueless in this one. Simply, it's too petty and cruel and politically stupid - i.e. it's got Hillary's fingerprints all over it).
And, of course, a secret little gold star for the little spy who pulled it off - and future gilded jobs and perks for a Job Well Done.
These... females... give "vile" a whole new level of meaning.

I am not buying his croc tears for a second, and can't believe so many in the media are.
Would his aides have done something so drastic without his knowledge and approval? At the very least, they must have thought that it was the sort of thing that Chrispy Crème would want done but perhaps be kept out of the loop for "plausible deniability".
On the other hand, let's give Christie the full benefit of the doubt for a moment, and say he had no foreknowledge or involvement in the bridge lane closures. Would he not have been outraged as a governor to see what was going on? Would not this be just the type of an issue that a "no nonsense" governor would get to the bottom of? Isn't that what a "champion of the people" would do? Instead, evidently, Christie had no concern or interest when this was happening. So even if he had no knowledge or involvement, he showed a complete lack of concern for the citizens on New Jersey. He was AWOL. Period.
Then the investigations began. Even if was initially asleep at the wheel, wouldn't he "get to the bottom" of it? Since when is tough guy Christie afraid to rock the boat a little? Despite all of the investigations going on, he doesn't get the truth out of his aides?
So if you believe that Christie had no knowledge about what his aides did, then you have to believe that he is an extremely poor judge of character, and unwittingly hired thugs to run to campaign/administration. You have to believe that he watched the massive bridge problem and no interest or desire in finding out what was going on and fix it. He's the GOVERNOR for crying out loud! You have to believe that when the investigations started, he either still didn't care anything about the issue or if he did was unable to get the truth out of his top aides.
So, if you are Chris Christie and you found out that your top aides caused the problems ON PURPOSE, wouldn't you be outraged? Where's THAT guy now? Wouldn't you be looking to punish these people to the full extent of the law? Wouldn't you be furious that these aides betrayed you? Not if you are Chris Christie. No, you are "sad". Pathetic.
No, I'm not buying his schtick for a second. If he were truly caught off guard by all of this, and if he really didn't approve of what his aides did, we'd see the "in your face" Chris Christie. The "I'm mad as hell about what happened and those who betrayed the public trust will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law".
What a blowhard this guy has been all along.

I am not aligned with the press.
If however, they occasionally go in the right direction I will not suddenly go in the wrong direction just to spite them.
I will point out that Obama himself wears pants. You will not see me walking around naked from the waist down just so I can be different from him.
Foolish? Yet it was the entire substance of your defense of Christie.
My political beliefs don’t have room for anyone getting a pass when they do crap like this.

Even if Christie didn’t know, which I doubt, it is pretty obvious the culture in his office was to inflict pain on his enemies and his staff simply did what they thought he wanted done. His office was corrupt to the core.
