How many Chicagoans will die because they cannot protect themselves for another six months?
You are dreaming if you think anyone will be able to buy a gun in Chicago in six months.
Six months is just the amount of time it will take to develop rules, then they have to be reviewed, etc. After that someone foolish enough to want to deal with all the Chicago red tape will have to apply to have a gun store. Then there will be a lengthy approval process. But, he will have to have an address for the store before the application can even be considered,so he will have to find a potential site and pay rent on it from before the application is filed until the store can open, which will mean at least several years. And if the application is denied for any reason, the rent is all down the drain...
I am going to bet it will be 5 years before a store opens in Chicago.
I know it is a fantasy, but I would love to see an order front the court giving then 10 days to develop rules, and no more than 30 days to approve or deny applications.
