Germany is joining international efforts to destroy Syria's stockpile of chemical weapons, the foreign and defence ministries have announced.

The decision is in response to a request for help from the UN and OPCW, co-ordinators of the destruction plan.

Ministers said waste from the destroyed weapons would be burned at a government facility in the town of Muenster in line with environmental regulations.

Gas, everything about it seems a labor of love for the Teutons. The Germans seem to love their gas, have a genetic, historical affinity for it.

When it comes to poison gas, you go with the experts.

the good Germans may well help out IF PERMITTED TO DO SO, but they will NOT be so permitted by Syria (except for perhaps a token amount of weaponry, for the sake of publicity photos)

Syria is keeping its major weapons, as everybody knew from the beginning. These news articles are just propaganda designed to continue the appearance, the farce if you will, of a “successful” foreign policy (when Obama threatened to bomb and invade Syria all of a sudden a few months ago)

Well, they offer up as to what the worst trade in world history is. Germany trading six million Jews for today's three million Muslims.

I don't know. Maybe, they've got some plan.

They love their guns too. I’m part German and love mine or did before I lost them all in a boating accident. (sarc.)

Germany is accepting the residual waste left after the chemical weapons are destroyed. The weapons and chemical agent will be destroyed on a US ship. The ship will deliver the waste to a disposal facility. There are many facilities around the world that can do it. It's really no big deal except for the politics of it.
