Fort Lee woman died as GWB closures delayed medical help, report says (Chris Christie scandal)

The controversial lane closures at the George Washington Bridge last September delayed emergency responders from attending to at least four medical situations in Fort Lee — including helping a 91-year-old woman who lay unconscious and later died, according to a report by The Record.

Democrats have long accused Republican Gov. Chris Christie of ordering the lane closures as political retribution for Fort Lee's Democratic mayor refusing to endorse his re-election bid last year. Today, newly unveiled e-mails show that one of Christie's top aides knew about the closures in advance. The governor himself has denied being involved and today issued a statement admonishing the aide.

Seems like Christie would have had to known.
Having to cross that damn bridge almost on a daily basis many yrs ago, I can say it doesn't take a PhD in civil engineering to know the approach roads to the GWB are woefully inadequate. Like most of the parkways and expressways in and around NYC the GWB, from the day it opened in 1932 was "complete and obsolete". There had better be a *bleeping* good reason for lane closures in that area. As for that poor 91-yr-old woman, may she RIP, she may do to Krispy Creme's presidential aspirations what MaryJo Kopechne did to Teddy the swimmer's.

At least this and the stuff that will be made public because of this will derail his presidential train. Heretofore he seemed to be the media’s anointed Republican Candidate. The RNC will have to find another leftist who doesn’t want the job but craves the honor of Nomination.
