Just the other day, A.J. McCarron’s mother was called a “racist” for pointing out Jameis Winston’s poor grammar following the BCS title game. Actually, Winston wasn’t as bad as many athletes I’ve heard interviewed. But the article points to a real problem, and you do wonder what classes some of these guys are taking to get through college. It just doesn’t add up.
Them and the various Edukashun groups that have demanded "social promotions" lest you lower a student's "self-esteem!"
The "self esteem" lobby need a good thrashing and the NEA and their union thugs need to be sued into eternity!
Another Reason to Homeschool
I thought the same thing the first time I heard Jameis Winston give an interview. I probably shouldn’t admit it publicly, but the thought I had was, “Is this guy speaking English?” Apparently, I wasn’t the only one (Alabama quarterback’s mom).
My fears were confirmed after I heard his interview following the national championship game. It is shameful we put so much importance on athletics while ignoring these men wouldn’t be able to support themselves in anything but menial jobs.
I love sports and played them through H.S., but I also got good grades...maybe that’s why I wasn’t college/pro material.
"One day he was doing nothing, his usual pastime, when a corn fell from the sky."
LOL!!
Obviously we need to vote for democrats so there is more democrat control of education.
Are we sure they aren’t talking about CNN workers?
What’s disgraceful is that we’ve let the Education Bureaucracy drop a system that worked, phonics, use whole language (or what ever they call it), and fail generations of kids. And many, far beyond these players. At least they are getting a remedial education. What about all the ones that aren’t basketball stars? They could have been taught to read by age 8, too.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
