Gov. Chris Christie today urged the children of immigrants who came to this country illegally to "make the most of the opportunity" to pay in-state tuition at New Jerseys colleges and universities under the Dream Act.

This way no one needs to work—just collect unemployment of get some of the money of the saps still working—it will all be equal
Yes, just like Mike Huckabee when he was governor of Arkansas. I had a number of “discussions” with his office over the years and not one of them ever explained why illegals can break the law and citizens have to obey them.

I think it makes a difference with hindsight. Reagan signed the 1986 amnesty with no talk radio, no FAIR, NumbersUSA to educate the public on the issue or to burn the phone lines of congress.
Republicans had just won the Presidency with a hispanderer from Texas. I can understand moreso there was momentum for this misinformed pandering in the Texas GOP at the time then there is this decade at the national level.
It’s the worst of two worlds. It’s like knowing a train wreck is coming in two years and you can’t do anything about it.
Reagan's amnesty was a one time deal that failed. That wasn't predictable so he had no way of knowing. Perry had benefit of knowing but did it anyway because it was part of his pro-ILLEGAL agenda. There's a world of difference between the two men, their goals and their agendas.
Its called pandering for dollars.
Carlos Medina, chairman of statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Martin Perez, of the Latino Leadership Alliance, were also speakers. Both men endorsed Christies re-election bid, and Christie nominated Perez to serve on Rutgers board of governors.
So Christie discriminates against Americans in favor of illegal aliens?
That’s treason.
But it’s for the CHILDREN!
The political outcome sure was predictable.
There are Hispanic polls that go all the way back to Nixon-Kennedy in 1960.
No Republican presidential candidate has ever received more than 40% of the Hispanic vote.
Reagan got 35% in 1980 and 37% in 1984.
After the Reagan Amnesty passed in 1986, GHWBush ran in 1988 and got 30% of the Hispanic vote!
...but probably the reason the GOPe will select him. No wonder, in Gallup's new pole today "Independents" are at an all time high and Republicans are at an all time low. They just refuse to learn...and power is more important to the GOPe than what is good and right for the country.
He should have invited R. Perry up for the festivities. You’d be surprised how much bunk the Republican primary voters always endure, even embrace.
The “base” is so uninformed as to be really nonexistent.
Yeh, this is definitely the guy we want on the ticket in 2016. Not in a million years will that fat RINO win a primary down South.
Might as well say, free college educations thanks to the American taxpayers.
Sorry, but it’s not a base problem but a politician problem and their beliefs! Strange that you would want to place the problem on the folks... Are you based in DC?
