And my remark isn’t supposed to be a prediction that they’re condemned to doom either. It’s more a caution that they should watch how they look. Pure sola fide’ism, actually lived out, would enable a radically trans-denominational acknowledgment of Christ. Being unable to understand how God can do a thing, and accepting that God can do it, is not mutually exclusive. The bible doesn’t require us to believe that entire church congregations are saved Christians either.

How so? Doctrine still matters. Consider the ecla, they call themselves Lutheran but have abandoned it. What they reach and preach might sound good on a given day, but their doctrine marks them not only as not being Lutheran, but also non-Christian.
