“It’s time for judges and juries to punish actions, not motivations.”

That’s always been my opinion. Motivation might be a factor to consider in sentencing, but it shouldn’t determine whether some extra charge is filed or not. There’s too much room for private interpretation and abuse in that kind of system.

I’ve always been of the opinion that we should have mounted up and laid low all those pushing for thought crime punishments back when thought crime was being pushed as something to be punished.

Give them an inch...
