What is it about Jesus that makes so many otherwise stable Right-Wingers become so unhinged?
He asks you to live a most “unconventional” life in a world that has established “the conventional” so that the conventional benefits those of the world first and personally. As another poster said, “...evil does not like to be challenged - especially with a mirror that doesn’t reflect likeness but truth.”
A very valid question here, because ordinarily that type of person may seem quite civilized.
A bit of a liberty by me but here is an imaginary scene at a happier and more tolerant time.

Tell your parents what I have said about the new policy. If they wish, they can remove the messages and you can bring the candy cans to school for your friends.
