Some of Texas biggest business trade groups are moving to counter tea party and anti-government forces that have dominated recent Republican primaries.
The movement mirrors the schism happening nationally between hard right and establishment Republicans. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce recently pledged $50 million to back pro-business Republicans in U.S. Senate primaries and fight tea party insurgents.
Michael Quinn Sullivan, president of the fiscal-hawk group Empower Texans said the Texas Future Business Alliance is nothing but a group of big-money interests wanting taxpayer dollars to flow into their pockets. This is what weve come to expect coming out of the Washington, anti-Ted Cruz movement, Sullivan said. They want people who will vote for cronyism and corporate welfare.

Yep, it's cronyism on steroids.
And whats the bet that union money is behind some of this as well. Were onto you Karl Rove!
Yep...unions are active in the Amnesty push...and have worked with multi nat corps for years on issues like Free Trade and Socialized Medicine.
Count on it.
They are coming for us. They are our biggest enemy. Well ya know what? It ain’t gonna work.
Oh, I see; Texas isn’t any different than Democrat dominated states!
Well, it is only a Democracy - or Republic as it really is when both the people and the business institutions are working together. When business and government get into business together, well - maybe the end is near.
Of course if most of the people rise up in disagreement against both business and government, well, revolution is possible.
Sadly, I think you are correct. I will fight. We will get a victory here and there. But no one is on our side. Our Republic is dead.
We lowered their taxes and suddenly big governement is more of a scource of income then a tax burden. It didn’t work out the way we thought it would.
I can’t remember what its called in Texas but if I recall its acronym was “TEC”. Lots of money and tax breaks in return for promises of jobs to be created followed by lots of broken promises.
Its the same with the MEDC here in Michigan.
Privatize the profits, socialize the costs.
Florida is Democrat dominated? I was just saying that ALL 57 states rely on illegal aliens in agriculture and construction. You live in the USA, don’t you?
yea, that makes sense
It makes sense if it is higher taxes on others and bigger government to crush competition and provide big government contracts. Would Wal-Mart use government to crush the dollar stores nibbling on their lower end? Yes, in an Arkansas second. And if you have to pay more taxes so they can get higher profits... well that's just a tiny price for you to pay.
Yep. That about sizes it up. Both parties the same there.
Now the Texas Future Business Alliance- Many of the same players who feed from the TEF and TETF trough are pushing back against the Tea Party, who Perry wrapped his arms around to build his image as a presidential candidate.
The irony and duplicity runs deep.
I cannot see Texas imploding. There are to many attitudes here who care.
My community, Longview WA, has 30% unemployment. So much money is being taken out of the economy by taxes and fees, businesses cannot afford to hire people.
Yet I've spoken with City employees working in the local parks, and they can't speak English, only Spanish. What does that tell you?
If you haven't guessed, the Longview City Council and the Cowlitz County Commissioners are Democrats.
The irony and duplicity runs deep.
Not voluntarily they don’t.
And most “economic development” projects are pork that goes to build boondoggles that can’t be maintained and add no long term ‘economic development’ (except to the few who got the contracts).
Just look at every po-dunk town that has a ‘convention center’, which sits idle most of the year (how many conventions are going to go to small towns with attractions other than the convention center itself?) In addition they are usually ugly, poorly built and expensive to maintain.
Do you ever eat Kraft, Tyson, Pilgim’s Pride, IBP, Nabisco, or a thousand other brands of food products? If so, you “rely” on illegal aliens. And you’re telling me that illegals aren’t involved in the construction trades there?
Speaking of panic and Cornyn’s sweat. I’ve noticed a group placing non-stop anti-Stockman ads on Breitbart. The group paying for the ads is a SuperPAC with ties to Cornball. Their name is Texans for a Conservative Majority...but, they’re anything but. Here’s a link to a story about what they’re doing on behalf of Cornyn, against Stockman...
