I cannot get my head around this.
I readily understand a parent who still loves their child, even if they don’t approve of what they are doing.
But to wholeheartedly approve it? I cannot fathom it.
Well, it did say “quietly accepting”. That could be interpreted as “Well, I can’t stop him from doing it, so I just love him and don’t bother arguing with him about this any more.”

His father should be getting him help.
Arg. I don’t see it that way...if I substitute other things in there and imagine being quietly accepting, it doesn’t fit at best, and at worst, sounds horrendous.
If it had said he was quietly accepting of his son’s homosexuality, I can understand that.
I cannot understand hearing that your offspring is a prostitute, and accepting that. It doesn’t mean you don’t love and care for your child...as a matter of fact, if you don’t accept it, it likely means you care more.
Just my opinion.

Whoa right there, DD. Back up the truck. What do you MEAN he’s selling sex to other MEN? For a while, this seemed like the ideal job...well, maybe after mattress tester.
Brandon's father...is quietly accepting of his son's work. "I know what he does and I don't shout about it from the rooftops. I wouldn't discuss it with my friends.
So either Brandon, or his dad is lying. The "proud" father that wouldn't "discuss it with my friends."
…and then one day, his business dropped off.
