Holy Loch was a U.S. base. on the west coast. The RN has a base at Faslane but only has SSNs and SSBNs stationed there.

A buddy was stationed there many years ago. He was on a sub tender.
He liked Scotland a lot, so much so that a young women followed him back to Minnesota a couple years after he left the US Navy and presented him with a young pre teen boy.
This would have been fine, except he already had a wife and son in Minnesota...
