Just heard Rand Paul saying he would support legalization of the 11 million illegal aliens so they can come out of the shadows. He would give them work permits and expand the number of guest workers we import.
Rand doesn’t seem to draw the connection between the 20 million unemployed/underemployed Americans and the insanity of giving work permits to 11 million lawbreakers and expanding the guest worker program.

By and large the incumbent Republicans have given this issue away now. Your argument is more than just sound and probably close to- if not a majority view. But it is UNREPRESENTED in political DC.

As for Paul specifically, open borders squares with a libertarian view. That’s all there is to it. It’s one of the many and several reasons I’ll never align with libertarians.

Generally, I agree with you. The GOP is beholden to its corporate paymasters. I will say however, that Jeff Sessions and Steve King, among others have been excellent on the issue.

Right on point. The libertarians believe in the free flow of labor even across borders. They fail to understand the social, economic, and cultural impact on American citizens.
