PHOENIX (AP) Action-movie star Steven Seagal says he is considering a run for Arizona governor.
The Marked for Death actor told KNXV-TV that he is considering a shot at the states highest office and has had a talk about the bid with the self-proclaimed toughest sheriff in America.
As far as I'm aware, Brewer cannot run again under Arizona law, since a full four year term would violate the 8 year limit imposed by the constitution. Though I've liked some of her actions as governor there, she screwed the pooch on Obamacare.
My opinion is: NO Celebrities in political office. ever.
Yeah, but you know as I do that if he runs, he’s going to win. Just like Ah-Nuld! Question is, is he trash or an asset?
Like Ronald Reagan?
RR was before the age of 100% commie Hollyweird
Didn’t he log some hours with a sheriff’s dept. a couple of years back?
Well I guess you held that opinion with Reagan also? Though I am first to admit he may have been the rare exception.
He is an eco-wacko, animal rights nut, Buddhist-because-its-vogue, he has kids named Kunzang and Kentaro.
He is one of those Hollyweird creatures who takes up causes because they are “in”.
Reagan’s time in Hollywierd was a very different time than today
I was about 8 when Reagan was elected.
Why make this about me? Why make it personal?
Thought that fat pig lived in Louisiana....
Well a kid named Kunzang instantly disqualifies him. I wish Sheriff Joe would run.
Your opinion on NO Celebrities in political office. Ever. Did that include Ronald Reagan? Just curious.
Seagal made an anti-Capitalist movie set in Alaska against the Oil Industry.
Nice try Hollywood, but we don’t want no stinking Oil and Gas Nationalization!
Him being an eco-wacko and animal rights nut and Buddhist is what disqualifies him if you ask me.
Yeah, they accidentally burned down a house while he was helping out.
Well, that would have excluded Reagan. But I understand where you are coming from.
Personally, I think we should have strict term limits, and that every candidate for political office should be required to sit in a room and be given a grand total of five hours to write an essay about what they believe and what they will do if they are elected. This should be monitored more strictly than the SAT (or any other standardized test) such that there is no chance for them to get outside assistance.
The essay of each candidate should then be posted publicly, and be available online, and the essays should be used as a basis to ask questions of the candidates in public forums. If elected, any candidate whose policy pursuits stray from what they wrote should automatically come up for a recall vote.
Arizona Under Seige
What are his views on things like cutting taxes and government and repealing/nullifying Obamacare? Are there any fatal gaffes in his background that he won’t be able to deftly or skillfully handle?
I am amazed at the FReepers who think Ronald Reagan is running for office again.
Ronald Reagan had nothing in common with the Hollywierd of today.
