Colorado Democrats blamed for $80M hit to economy by pushing out gun firm Magpul

DENVER — Democrats came under heavy criticism Friday for driving Magpul Industries out of Colorado by pushing an aggressive gun-control agenda, a move that could cost the state more than $80 million annually.

Republican state Rep. Lori Saine said she was “saddened to see this completely partisan law, widely considered unenforceable by sheriffs across Colorado, cause Magpul to leave our state.”

“The magazine ban did not garner one Republican vote in the House or Senate, and now as a result of this one-sided, Democrat-sponsored law, more than 200 people will lose their jobs and their ability to provide for their families,” said Ms. Saine in a statement. “[T]his move will cost the state of Colorado over $80 million a year in revenue.”

“If you like your marijuana, you can keep your marijuana.
Period. “

Well, it hasn’t turned out that way here in California. The Feds have been successful in shutting down “dispensaries” in this state by threatening the owners of the buildings in which the “dispensaries” have been located with forfeiture of their property. You can debate the efficacy of legalizing marijuana, but it’s still an illegal drug according to Federal law. It will be interesting to see if the Feds follow the same game plan in Colorado as they have here in CA.

Honestly, it really doesn't matter whether I support Texas or Wyoming workers when I buy my next batch of Pmags.

At least I won't have to worry about “stoner quality control”.

House Speaker Mark Ferrandino said at a press briefing Friday that he would not support a Republican-led effort to repeal the magazine law, adding he did not want to “rehash the same fights we had last year,” according to the Denver Post.

I wonder how many times he "rehashed" fights over abortion, voter ID, legalizing marijuana, amnesty for illegal aliens, homosexual marriage, extended unemployment benefits, unaffordable health care, wood burning stove bans, standard capacity firearms magazine capacity reduction, snail darter environment preservation, federal (US citizen owned) property drilling bans, ad infinitum

I must admit, that one really made Me laugh out loud for a bit! I would not be at all surprised if that happened beginning tomorrow at the very earliest.

(your fault if they got the idea from you, BTW! *grin*)

No, it’s not amazing. The intended end result of the people running their end of the show (and probably quite a few of ours as useful political idiots) is the destruction of the main representative democracy on the planet.

Doesn’t Colorado still have ranchers and hunters and regular folk

That's why two Senators have been recalled here for the first time in history and a third resigned before her recall was done.

Many people in Colorado travel to Wyoming to get their fireworks. Fireworks are illegal in Colorado.

I suspect that people in Colorado will get their mags from Wyoming and people from Wyoming will get their dope from Colorado.

Influx of Californistanians over the years changed the political makeup of CO.

Liberals leave their hellholes but vote for the same policies in their new homes.

While that may be true of some Californians, I can tell you that when my family moved from CA to CO we brought two solid GOP votes, with two kiddos who will also be voting Republican when they come of age.
