This is misleading. The VA letter refers to veterans who have been deemed incompetent to handle their personal and financial affairs, as in someone with severe Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
I work with the VA system. It is difficult to have someone classified as incompetent.
Watch to see if they change this to any veteran who is receiving disability benefits for PTSD, depression, or some other behavioral health condition. THEN it will be time to lock and load.
But what should I watch out for? Do certain words or meds trigger investigation ?????
EVERY time I go to the VA clinic they ask me if I am experiencing emotional problems or thoughts of suicide. I told my wife last year,” I think that they are trying to label us all as “Mentally disturbed and too unstable to own firearms”
