Six months before the Mississippi GOP primary, Sen. W. Thad Cochran is in a dead heat with attorney and former radio host state Sen. Christopher McDaniel, according to a Dec. 13 Human Events/Gravis poll of 691 voters, who voted in a Republican primary in 2010 and or 2012, with both men polling 40 percent with 20 percent undecided.
Overall, the results indicate that Senator Cochran is in a tight spot, said Doug Kaplan, president of Gravis Marketing, a Florida-based polling and call center company. The poll also asked about other issues and carries a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent.
Cochran is virtually tied with McDaniel, and he is again under the 50 percent threshold when running in a generic run against a Tea Party candidate, he said. Cochran polled only 45 percent of the vote compared to 35 percent for the generic Tea Party candidate.

We have a real shot to give the establishment a black eye here.
"Cochranes new campaign manager, Kirk Sims, speaks to the gravity of the task ahead.
Sims, the son-in-law of Sen. Roger F. Wicker (R.-Miss.), left his post as Mississippi Gov. D. Phillip Bryants chief of staff to lead the campaign."
IMHO, it would be very effective if McDaniel pledged NOT to for McConnell, that he would endorse and support a challenger to the Majority Leader's post.
Here we go with the evenly matched lies again. Just vote for McDaniel.
Excellent!
Incestuous politics! Cochran must go!
That’s good, but I can’t imagine MS deserting Cochran, who I believe has been there longer, counting his House service, than Stennis was.
Maybe McDaniel is afraid that MS is full of McC supporters. McC was after all born in AL, but he rarely mentions that point.
Throw the Bums out!
Wicker, now fully on the RINO left, is a distant cousin of leftie Fred Thompson, “R”-TN.
Jeff Sessions should be the leader as he is the real leader of the 2014 Republican senate candidates. McConnell could lose the primary or general.
Sessions is safe and the only people who don’t like him are Norquist, Jeb Bush and Obama.
The establishment Republicans are going full tilt boogie against McDaniel. McDaniel, a Tea Party candidate, represents a threat to both Republicans and liberal Democrats (what’s the difference now?). Wicker has completely gone over to the dark side and I haven’t much use for him either.
Nothign against Sessions, whom I greatly admire, but I would prefer Mike Lee as Majority Leader...he is a staunch conservative, and he is smooth, polished, and articulate..

I agree completely, but it will be hard to get any of the remaining “old fart GOPer’s” to vote for him should McConnell loose his race. Whatever the outcome, the “new conservative” Senators need to stand up and not support the GOPe in any fashion.
They cannot be tied... I plan to vote for McDaniel twice!!! ;-)
His arse is gone.
wicker... trent lott’s buttboy!
Thad’s going down.
Don’t quote me but I think CM’s campaign manager is a Yazoo County boy.Keith Plunkett
I already have a McDaniel sticker on my truck. I need to send him some money too. I am so freaking tired of the Repubocrats.
