ObamaCare: In bad news for a White House intent on shredding the First Amendment, a Supreme Court justice has exempted a group of nuns from the mandate to provide contraceptive coverage in health plans.
Just hours before ObamaCare's birth-control mandate was to take effect, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor on Tuesday issued a last-minute stay in response to a case brought by the Denver-based Little Sisters of the Poor Home for the Aged against the Department of Health and Human Services.
The U.S. government is "temporarily enjoined from enforcing against applicants the contraceptive coverage requirements imposed by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act," Sotomayor said in the order, and gave the administration until Jan. 3 to respond.
It may not have been a particularly happy New Year's for HHS and the White House; earlier in the day the D.C. Court of Appeals in Washington, in a 2-1 ruling, barred the federal government from imposing contraceptive service on a number of Catholic organizations while they appeal a lower-court ruling in a case they earlier lost.
A spokeswoman for the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, the lead counsel for the Little Sisters of the Poor, said the group was delighted by Sotomayor's order.
"The government has lots of ways to deliver contraceptives to people," Emily Hardman said in a statement. "It doesn't need to force nuns to participate."

So then if the government didn't have lots of ways to deliver contraceptives, it would okay to force nuns to participate???

I read on another thread that this District (10th?) falls under Sodamayor's jurisdiction, and that's why she's ruling on it.

Obama doesn’t like the Supreme Court exempting people from his signature legislation...he believes only he should be the one to do that.
“Just who in the hell do these people think they are??” Obama is thinking (and probably saying). Yet it won’t occur to him that all of us are saying the same about him.
