The prosecution took two huge hits right at the beginning.

First, the criminal trial was moved from Santa Monica, where the crime took place, to downtown Los Angeles, which gave Simpson a much better jury pool to work with.

Second, the best attorney for the prosecution was Bill Hodgman, who had stress related cardiac issues during opening statements and was pulled off the case.

Marcia Clark and Christopher Darden were competent prosecutors, but they lacked the prime time skills needed to manage a trial with international courtroom coverage.

Vincent Bugliosi, who prosecuted Manson, and Alan Dershowitz, the Harvard professor, both wrote books after the trial, and both stated that Clark and Darden were incompetent.

Oh yes, I was going to mention the trial being moved downtown but I got tired of typing...lol. Anyway Darden and Clark were out of their league...Marcia put on a good case with the DNA but Darden and the glove thing was a big mistake. The defense walked all over them. The juror they let go I have no doubt would have at least hung the jury but that’s a moot point now. The witness that saw OJ speeding down the street about the time of the murders wasn’t called because she talked to a tabloid. It was an (un)comedy of errors plus a goodly portion of jurors had no business on a jury of any kind. I just hope Simpson isn’t allowed to get out of prison except through the back door in a body bag!
