Emergency rooms are overcrowded and a new study says many patients could be treated for less at clinics or offices.
Experts say that people who have recently signed up for Medicaid went to the ER 40-percent more than others looking for treatment that could be addressed at doctor's offices or urgent care clinics.

Does this include private hospitals? Memphis has only 1 public hospital, and the illegals have taken it over as a doctors office. The only part of the hospital that is profitable is the top notch Neonatal Unit and the Elvis P, Trauma unit. Both serve ARK, MISS and TN (memphis and surrounding counties)
” They don’t think we have it in us, and so they are pressing forward for the real tyranny as their final solution. They think their power will be locked in.”
I agree with that analysis; however, that view held by elitists doesn’t mean they’re looking at the situation intelligently. They’re not. As it stands today, 90% of Americans think the elite fascists in DC have too much power. Thought precedes action.
While doing independent contract work for an Israeli company back in 2011, we noted the elitist play for power in Libya. That blew up in their faces after 75% of Libya’s army deserted and attacked the elitist power structure. Those soldiers allied with the provincial militias were hanging elitists all across the country. Forget the fantasy you hear about al Queda and muslim radicals taking over the country. That’s not what happened.
The elitists were running around in circles, not knowing what to do. Their power play ended in getting themselves killed. Quite simply, elitists are not warriors; they’re egoistical money-worshipping Philistines who overplay their hand. Libya scared the snot out of the elitists, so they’re making the same stupid move now that they did in Libya.
I don’t think we’ll be indiscriminately hanging them on lampposts from sea to shining sea like in Libya. We’re more civilized and will hold brief Nuremberg style trials first.
Not exactly. The ER is required to screen and stabilize any emergency conditions. Once they screen you and you have been evaluated and no such condition exists they can then discharge you. Failure to do the above can result in an EMTALA Federal Law violation. You can’t sue for that. Unless they get that wrong.
Practically most ERs just go ahead and treat non emergencies and try to bill what they can. In most ER s I’ve worked in about 25 to 35 % of the patients were a complete write off ie “ no pay”.
If the government orders someone else to pay for my meals, why should I order a McDonald’s Burger when I can order steak!
If the Government orders others to pay for my medical care why should I go to a common clinic when I can go to a HOSPITAL and maybe get a free meal and a room for some minor thing?
EMTALA - ERs cannot refuse to treat people without insurance.
And, Medicaid charges no co-pay for the ER, but charges one for a doctor’s visit (minimal, like $5 or so).
Indeed socialism is the first step to communism.
If a guy is rushed into ER at 2 am with an impacted gerbil or other objects. How will Obamacare cover this situation? How much will it pay for the extraction procedure. Does it allow him he to see his doctor, veternarian, dentist, chiropractor, plumber, or other practitioner of choice to perform the extraction. I’m series. This happens more often than you know. Just ask any ER personnel.
That’s what you get when you increase demand and not supply.
H.S. Econ.
The Medicaid folks already got their cards and are good to go.
Covered CA Silver has a $250 ER co-pay after the deductible, add co-pays for x-rays, tests and such your talking an expensive visit to the ER. Remember your wallet is being triaged just as your body is. If you have coverage they will find something to do. One visit could hit your out of pocket max.
