“They are no longer just a different political party.”
Great statement, ZX. Were it not for God’s promise to Noah and family after the Great Flood, I would be building an ark right about now.
Re the Dead Sea Scrolls. I have read it, but have little recollection of it. I think I’ll give it another read. The Book of Enoch (possibly included in the DSS??), however, DID stick with me and I’m reminded of it by the current goings on more than I care to be. My prayers lately have, for the most part, ended with, “Help me to fear You, and You alone.”
And you mentioned something that I’ve struggled with for a long time: Biblical Light and Dark. I’m going to go on and post my ignorance, because I know some smart Freeper can probably answer it.
God separated the light from the dark, right? The light He called good, but not the dark. Then there was evening (erev(?)) and morning (boker(?)) ...
Since it’s days (???) later that the sun, moon, stars are created, I wonder about the light and dark. There are presumptions about black holes and so forth, but that doesn’t seem to work for me. And, from what I can gather, the original meanings of “erev” and “boker” have been lost. But, we can easily see that the time between the two can’t make a whole day (in our sense of the word, anyway).
One definition (presumed, of course) does seem to work: chaos (erev) and order (boker) until, that is, the Word goes further to say that they were called morning and night.
Since we are on the subject of good vs. evil, I feel that this post is not entirely off-topic. :-)
