Based on the several news stories I also found it sounds like there was a fight among as many as 20 folks at a bar based on comments attributed to the police. Where did the story about 4 black females jumping a white female come from - a post on a weighlifting forum with a photograph?
I will wait for more information before I believe this is a hate crime although I do know that black females favor a box cutter and that definitely looks like a box-cutter wound! It still sounds like it was at a bar and there is all kinds of stupid at bars!
That’s not an Ithaca TV station and, in any event, the “censorship” is in relation to the races of the parties and the suspected motive.

visited Ithaca many times as a youth...I don’t get what it has become...there seems to be a raunchy underclass in the city but have no clue why blacks live there...its a farming and lake community....
when you have the students and professors basically running the place, you’re not going to get law and order....
you can bet that this is just hardening the resolve for most people living outside of Ithaca....the farmers and small townspeople....they’re fed up but they lack any power since we let college students dominate where they go to school.....sort of like what the Moonies did in Oregon...

It's a collegetown with a fairly active drug trade and extremely generous welfare benefits, coupled with a government that is actively committed to a soft on crime/alternatives to incarceration program.
I grew up near there and I can say that even 40 yrs ago, there were violent blacks living there and in Elmira,Ny....
