California has tort reform. Non-economic damages are capped at $250K. The family will get a settlement but it'll be very low seven figures at best. Is that why they are trying to get her transferred outside of California? Pull the plug there, and file the lawsuit in a State without tort reform? I don't know the legal ramifications - just speculating.

I'm going to give the parents the benefit of the doubt and believe they are honestly driven by what they think is the best interest of their daughter.
