It is going to fail, the prices are too high!
We will continue to see a long line of people like the lady in another thread who can't see how she can pay for her new medical care, and one of her kids can't get enrolled at all.
This won't get any better. It is going to get worse next fall when the details of the employer based plans for 2015 hit is the streets. This is already hitting smaller business. My brother works for a tech start up, less than 50 employees. They had a great, high deductible, HSA plan where the employer seeded the HSA. For most people they would end up paying annual family premiums of $2400. If somebody got significantly sick, the total out of pocket for the employee would be $4400 ($2400 premiums+$2000 of the deductible not picked up by the employer). Who wouldn't want a plan like that? That plan no longer exists due to Obamacare. His company is having to come up with an extra $160,000 in employer costs and the employee costs have doubled.
