If I know before hand that my medical treatment will be with held only because of my age and therefore I will not live as long as a younger person with the same problems why should I worry about a long imprisonment or legal penalty for doing something wrong?
This question would apply to all crimes. Would I not be angry at some one or a group of people for condemning me to death at an earlier age? The irony of it would be that I would never pay the price for the crime because by their call I would be dead. Even if imprisoned for a shot time at the end of my life while going through the process of dieing, it would put the burden of medical care, meals, clothing, rent, and utilities on the government. I would have very little to loose my family would be better off too.
This is a very interesting position to put a person in. If I had great credit why not borrow as much as I can get, disperse all my assets to the people I want to have them and then default on debt or just die with nothing left?
This obama care thing is giving older folks something to think about.
Yep.
I’d say the only thing is, those death panels aren’t going to be the kind before which you’ll be able to stand and make your case. The policy’s going to be written by committee, implemented by another committee and you’ll find out about the decision as a done deal. You can sue, I suppose. I don’t think it’s going to be any more fun suing the government and/or the insurance companies than it is now.
