My family and extended family plus a number of our friends refused to watch this spectacle. It has long been a tradition in my wife's family to not only watch, but participate in the parade. They live in Southern California and we'd spend part of our Christmas vacation helping the Sons of Italy build their float. Not this time.

I feel bad for the people who worked long and hard on their floats because we have a first-hand appreciation of the work which it involves. But we refused to be even indirect participant in this celebration of perversion this year.
