While mine was a crime of non compliance and I never went to prison, I see the same among all people. When I was younger and more likely to do stupid things, I had no interest whatsoever about politics.

We’ll see a dozen different stories of injustices done to individuals at the hands of the state today. A good many of those will be stripped of their right to vote with the happy approval of oh so wise FReepers.

In 2002, in Illinois I was charged, jailed, tried and convicted of the felony of carrying a concealed weapon.

I didn’t even know that I still had that little .32 in my heavy coat pocket. A waitress saw it in my hanging coat (I don’t know how) called the cops and the rest is history.
